Privacy at Fieldgate

Fieldgate is operated by Andrew Winslade. Contact: fieldgatesouthwest@gmail.com. This information applies to our early-access service.

Your account and adverts

Signing in with ChatGPT supplies your account identifier and email. We use these to link you to your adverts, restrict editing and identify the administrator. Your sign-in email is shown to you; it is not automatically put on your adverts.

We store the details you submit, your chosen seller name and contact details, photographs, postcode location, advert status and review notes. We use this information to run the marketplace, provide local searches, review adverts and handle problems.

What other people see

Pending adverts are visible to their seller and the administrator. Approved adverts are publicly visible only after the seller agrees to public display. Public adverts include the description, photo, chosen seller name and contact details, approximate locality and postcode area. Full postcodes and location coordinates are not included in the public advert response. Private-test adverts require renewed consent before public display.

Services and storage

ChatGPT Sites hosts the service, using Cloudflare database and file storage. Postcode lookup sends the submitted postcode to Postcodes.io to calculate location. Signing in uses OpenAI’s sign-in service and its privacy and cookie policies. A contact link may open your phone or email application; contact details are passed to the application when you choose to use that link.

Saved favourites use local storage on your device. Fieldgate has no advertising trackers or analytics added by us. Our hosting and sign-in providers may process technical logs and cookies needed to operate their services.

Retention and your choices

Marking an advert sold or withdrawing it removes it from ordinary browsing. During early access, the stored advert and photo remain available to you and the administrator until removed. We retain records while needed to provide your account, handle reports or meet legal obligations, and review deletion requests individually.

We rely on consent for publishing your advert and chosen contact details, and on providing the requested service and legitimate interests in security and moderation for operational processing. You can withdraw an advert, withdraw publication consent, or ask to access, correct or delete your data by contacting us. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Do not upload someone else’s personal information without permission. Photos should avoid addresses, vehicle registration plates and people who have not agreed to appear.
