Fieldgate is an early-access local advertising service for Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset. Basic adverts, browsing and seller contact are free. Sellers currently need a free ChatGPT account to create and manage adverts.

Keep it local and accurate

Advertise animals you own or have authority to sell, with an accurate price, age, sex, breed, location and description. Use genuine photographs and describe health information honestly. Do not claim checks, pedigree, testing or registration you cannot evidence. Do not post scams, prohibited animals, illegal sales, misleading adverts or another person’s contact details without permission.

Dogs and puppies

Our policy permits puppy sale adverts only from 8 weeks old, directly from their breeder. Buyers should see puppies with their mother where they were bred, unless there is a documented welfare exception. Include a real photograph, age and country of birth and residence. Licensed sellers must supply their licence number and issuing council. Unlicensed sellers must explain why a licence is not required; this statement is not verification by Fieldgate. Livestock and poultry

Buyers and sellers are responsible for applicable animal identification, movement, registration, transport and welfare requirements, including current disease restrictions. Check official guidance before arranging collection. An advert is not permission to move an animal.

Approval, changes and removal

Adverts and edits wait for administrator review before appearing. Approval permits display; it does not certify a seller, animal, licence or health claim. Sellers can edit details and mark stock sold or found, or withdraw an advert. Existing photos are kept during a details edit; withdraw and create a new advert if a photo needs replacing.

We may decline or remove unsuitable adverts. Use the report link in an advert to email its reference and your concern to fieldgatesouthwest@gmail.com. Reports are reviewed manually; there is no instant or round-the-clock response guarantee.

View before you pay

Fieldgate does not take animal payments, hold deposits or arrange delivery. Buyers and sellers agree the sale, viewing, collection and payment directly. Verify the animal and seller before paying; do not rely on a badge or advert approval as a guarantee.
